On Saturday US President Barack Obama visited Shakespeare's Globe theatre in London on the 400th anniversary of The Bard's death. He watched actors perform scenes from Hamlet.

Afterwards, Mr Obama gave a speech at the Royal Horticultural Halls in London. Among those listening were Bank of England governor Mark Carney, actor Benedict Cumberbatch and singer Annie Lennox.

Putting official duties aside for a while, President Obama joined David Cameron for a game of golf at The Grove hotel in Hertfordshire.

On Friday two-year-old Prince George was allowed to stay up a few minutes past his bed time to meet President Obama.

It may have been just before his bedtime but Prince George had time to play on his rocking horse given to him by the US leader when he was born. He also played with a toy dog given to him by the Obamas.

The Obamas were at Kensington Palace for dinner, but they had a chance to chat with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry beforehand.

Mr Cameron and Mr Obama were expected to discuss the progress being made in combating so-called Islamic State in Iraq, and what more can be done to tackle the group in Syria.

Earlier, the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh greeted Barack and Michelle Obama, who had flown to Windsor Castle by helicopter on Friday.

Prince Philip, aged 94, drove the Queen and the Obamas from the helicopter to Windsor Castle where they had a private lunch.

Trumpeters greeted the Obamas' arrival at Windsor Castle.
