Ex-footballer Andy Woodward on being sexually abused by coach

In his first broadcast interview, former professional footballer Andy Woodward has told the Victoria Derbyshire programme about the sexual abuse he suffered at the hands of a coach when he was part of Crewe Alexandra's junior set-up.

Woodward, who is now 43 and also played for Bury and Sheffield United during his career, explained how the abuse at a young age left him feeling suicidal, dealing with depression and experiencing panic attacks that got so bad he once faked an injury during a match.
