Ken Hay: 'Sometimes you wondered, will I ever get home?'

Fighting alongside his brother during the Normandy campaign, Ken Hay was captured in a German ambush. His unit was surrounded and he was one of nine taken prisoner of war.

As the end of the war approached, he endured forced marches across Nazi-occupied territory. He was one of over 80,000 prisoner of wars who were marched westward in extreme winter conditions during Spring 1945.
