Appeal on 20th anniversary of County Durham woman death

The step-daughter of a woman murdered at her County Durham home has appealed to the killer on the 20th anniversary of her death.
Ann Heron, 44, was sunbathing at her home near Darlington when her throat was cut on 3 August 1990.
In 2005, her husband Peter was charged with her murder but the case was subsequently dropped.
His daughter Debbie Simpson has written a poem to mark the anniversary and appeal for the killer to come forward.
She believes the key to solving the case lies in tracing the driver of a blue car witnesses reported seeing speeding from the scene.

She said: "I would just plead with him to give himself up. Just bring it to an end.
"This guy may be married, he may have children, he may have parents and I would plead with them as well - bring it to an end.
"Justice for Ann and justice for dad in his lifetime."
In a statement, Durham Police said the senior investigating officer, Ch Supt Andy Reddick, was in regular contact with relevant family members.
It said: "The murder remains unsolved and the investigation is still open.
"Any new information which may come to light in the future will be fully considered."
