Post concern after box is stolen in County Durham
- Published
Thieves have stolen a post box from near a caravan site in County Durham.
Police have no idea why the Royal Mail box, which was attached to a telegraph pole opposite the Westgate caravan site near Stanhope, was targeted.
It was taken on Tuesday or Wednesday and Durham Police said thieves may have been after its contents, scrap value or saw it as an artefact to sell.
Anyone who used it to send important documents or payments has been urged to contact the intended recipients.
Witnesses or anyone aware of a box for sale is asked to contact Durham Police.
