Long rail delays between Stafford and Wolverhampton

Passengers suffered long delays on rail services between Stafford and Wolverhampton in the morning rush hour due to overhead wire problems.
The difficulties at Penkridge led to delays of up to 50 minutes on the route, which includes Wolverhampton and Sandwell & Dudley stations.
CrossCountry, London Midland and Virgin Trains were affected.
People were advised to contact National Rail Enquiries for alternative options.
CrossCountry passengers were being accepted on London Midland services between Birmingham New Street and Wolverhampton.
Customers at Wolverhampton travelling to Manchester were advised to travel to Birmingham New Street before using CrossCountry services to Manchester.
London Midland passengers were being accepted on CrossCountry services between Birmingham New Street and Stafford.
