Joint business partnership bid for Norfolk and Suffolk

Business people in Norfolk and Suffolk have come together to promote economic development following the abolition of regional development agencies.
A document outlining a proposed joint local enterprise partnership (LEP) has been sent to government to win support.
It describes how long-term sustainable economic growth can be maintained and identifies barriers to enterprise that must be removed, its authors said.
Business leaders and county councils in Norfolk and Suffolk back the bid.
Jobs recovery
The aims outlined in the LEP document are to build on expertise in the environment to foster "green and low carbon" business growth.
Andy Wood, chief executive of brewers Adnams and chairman of the Choose Suffolk group, said: "The partnership will bring together the best from the local private sector with the best in local government.
"This will create a new partnership that will truly support a private sector jobs recovery."
Peter Barry, managing director of Norfolk-based Pasta Foods and Chairman of the Norfolk LEP Proposal Board, said: "Our proposal has been sent to government.
"We expect them to support it, allowing us to get on with the job we have set ourselves of economic growth in these difficult times."
