Commuter wi-fi available on London train routes

Commuters travelling on trains between London, Essex, Norfolk and Suffolk are to have access to the internet.

National Express East Anglia (NXEA) is to introduce free wi-fi facilities for first-class passengers, and others will have to pay £2.95 per journey.

The facilities are funded by a grant of £346,000 from the East of England Development Agency and Norfolk and Suffolk county councils.

EEDA said the scheme would boost business productivity.

Andrew Chivers, managing director of National Express East Anglia said: "It illustrates our ongoing commitment to continue to invest in improving train services for our customers in the region.

"This follows the recent launch of our service improvement plan which is centred on providing extra seats on services into London over the next two years."
