Eleven have bail extended in people trafficking probe

Eleven people arrested in connection with a nationwide operation targeting people trafficking and prostitution have been re-bailed until July.

Officers made the arrests in Ipswich, Norwich, Swindon, Harwich in Essex and Tedburn St Mary in Devon last year.

The arrests followed an multi-agency operation involving five police forces and the Serious Organised Crime Agency led by Suffolk police in July 2010.

All have been re-bailed to return to Ipswich police station.

Officers from the Norfolk, Essex, Wiltshire and Devon and Cornwall police forces were also involved.

They are working with the Serious and Organised Crime Agency's vulnerable persons team, the UK Border Agency, the Crown Prosecution Service's complex case unit and the UK Human Trafficking Centre.
