A new Chief Constable of West Mercia has been chosen to replace Paul West.

David Shaw, who began his career with West Midlands Police and who has served as Deputy Chief Constable with West Mercia, will take over.

He will advise the police authority on the possibility of developing an alliance with the neighbouring Warwickshire force.
