A woman has been taken to hospital with hypothermia after being rescued from a frozen lake in Nottinghamshire.

Police were alerted to a woman walking on the lake near the Attenborough Nature Reserve, in Beeston, on Saturday at 18:00 GMT.

Fire crews pulled the 35-year-old, who is from Derbyshire, to safety using an inflatable raft.

She was taken to the Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham, a police spokesman said.

The woman had earlier been reported by her family as missing.

Following the incident, police urged people to be cautious during the cold weather and to stay away from frozen water.
