Fashion designer Zandra Rhodes has officially opened a £5.9m campus at the university where she is chancellor and once studied.
Ms Rhodes said the Epsom campus of the University for the Creative Arts (UCA) would give "fantastic opportunities" for students.
The complex has an auditorium, a media centre and a learning resource centre.
"It is here that the designers of the future will hone their skills," she said.
Ms Rhodes studied at Medway College of Art - one of the Kent and Surrey colleges that formed UCA in 2008.
During her five decade career, her clients have included Freddie Mercury, Kylie Minogue and Sarah Jessica Parker.
The University for the Creative Arts has campuses at Canterbury, Epsom, Farnham, Maidstone and Rochester.
