Stoke City's Jermaine Pennant on drink-drive charge

Footballer Jermaine Pennant has been charged with drinking and driving after a crash in Greater Manchester.
The Stoke City player, who lives in Altrincham, was driving a BMW when he collided with an Audi in Cross Street, Sale, at about 05:20 BST on Sunday.
The 29-year-old winger is also charged with driving with no insurance and driving while disqualified, Greater Manchester Police said.
He is due to appear before Trafford Magistrates' Court on Wednesday 9 May.
The driver of the Audi went to hospital for a minor back injury. He has since been discharged.
