Chester Zoo cheetah has operation for a broken ankle

Surgeons have operated on a cheetah cub's broken ankle at Chester Zoo animal hospital.

Juba the cub was found to be limping badly by a keeper in February.

The operation saw consultant orthopaedic surgeon Rob Pettitt, from the University of Liverpool, put a metal plate on the ankle to stabilise the fracture and allow it to heal.

Juba, born in the zoo last summer, is now back in his full enclosure for the first time since the operation.
