Kent prisoner arrested in Hastings after absconding

A convicted prisoner who went on the run from a Kent prison on Saturday has been arrested in East Sussex.

Raymond Atkins was on temporary leave from Blantyre House Prison, Goudhurst, but failed to return to a hostel in Brighton where he was required to stay.

Atkins, 39, was arrested on Thursday night in Hastings following an appeal for information by police.

A 51-year-old woman was also arrested on suspicion of harbouring a person unlawfully at large.
