A further 25 London Midland services have been cancelled or disrupted because of a shortage of drivers.

Services affected include those between Birmingham New Street and Coventry and trains between Lichfield and Redditch.

London Midland said six shifts were affected, which meant 25 of its 1,300 trains were subject to alteration, external.

The driver shortage also affected 25 services on Tuesday. London Midland claimed the problem should be resolved by 11 December.

"It takes well over a year to become a qualified train driver, but several of our trainees are now approaching the end of the course," the operator said.

"This along with a number of efficiencies will ensure the shortfall is addressed by mid-December."
