In pictures: Footballing heroes celebrated on stamps
The Royal Mail has issued a set of stamps featuring some of football's biggest names to mark the 150th anniversary of the rules of Association Football being established. Pictured here is Liverpool and Newcastle legend Kevin Keegan representing England.
The 11 players selected were chosen for their outstanding record on the pitch and representation of their home country. Four members of England's 1966 World Cup-winning squad - Gordon Banks, Bobby Moore, Jimmy Greaves and Bobby Charlton (not pictured here) - are included.
One of the biggest names in 1980s and 90s English football, John Barnes, gets a stamp. They have all been illustrated by artist Andrew Kinsman, who based his work on photographs of the players.
The 11 also includes four Manchester United players, including the club's "holy trinity" - Bobby Charlton, Denis Law and George Best - who are immortalised in a statue at the team's Old Trafford stadium.
The fourth United player included is Bryan Robson, who captained both his club and his country in the 1980s and 90s.
The line-up on the stamps is completed by Leeds United and Wales legend John Charles (top left) and Scottish great Dave Mackay (bottom right), who excelled for both Tottenham Hotspur and Derby County.
