Severn Valley Railway in cash boost to restore locomotives

A heritage railway is to receive up to £500,000 in lottery funding to help restore locomotives and carriages.
The Heritage Lottery Fund will match every pound the Severn Valley Railway's charitable trust raises up to that amount.
The 16-mile line attracts more than 200,000 visitors a year.
More than 1,300 volunteers work on the steam railway, which runs from Kidderminster in Worcestershire to Bridgnorth in Shropshire.
The trust, previously SVR Rolling Stock Trust, was launched last year to raise money to help to preserve and operate the heritage railway.
It said restoring "such a large collection of rolling stock, together with the skills needed to maintain them" was a "huge" task.
