The Olympic cauldron has been donated to the Henley River and Rowing Museum in Oxfordshire.
The cauldron, which carried the Olympic flame during London 2012, was donated by Locog as part of the Games' legacy.
It was received on behalf of the museum by Sir Matthew Pinsent.
It followed a procession by the Royal Barge, Gloriana, from Henley Royal Regatta to the museum, with crew including Olympic gold medallist Katherine Grainger.
The cauldron, which carried the Olympic flame on The Queen's Rowbarge from Hampton Court to London last year, will be revealed in the River Gallery as part of a new exhibition entitled Glorious Thames, which tells the story of the £1m Rowbarge.
It is appearing alongside Olympic memorabilia from the 1908 and 1948 games, as well as a recently acquired 2012 Olympic torch,
The rowing events for the 1908 and 1948 Olympic Games were held in Henley and the museum houses a large collection of rowing memorabilia.
