The alleged racist abuse of Norwich City's manager Chris Hughton has been reported to police as a hate crime.

The club said the posts appeared on a Facebook page called "**OFFICIAL**!!! Ipswich - Norwich fans banter/insult/ joke page".

The original post, which Norwich said followed their victory over Stoke at the weekend, has since been removed.

Norfolk Police said officers are investigating after being contacted by the anti-racism group Kick It Out.

Norwich City said it "totally supports" the reporting of the post.

The club said it wanted to stress the Facebook account was not officially affiliated to either Norwich City or Ipswich Town.
