Jayden Parkinson: Family 'living a nightmare'
- Published
The family of missing Oxford teenager Jayden Parkinson are "living a nightmare", the detective leading the investigation said.
The 17-year-old, who police believe has been murdered, was last seen at Didcot railway station on Tuesday 3 December.
Det Ch Supt Andy Murray said a potentially significant suitcase had been recovered.
Jayden's ex-boyfriend Ben Blakeley, 22, of Christchurch Road, Reading, has been charged with her murder.
Det Ch Supt Murray appealed again to anyone who may have seen a man struggling with a suitcase in the early hours of Monday, 9 December, in a field just outside the village of Upton in Oxfordshire.
A number of cases matching the description have been found, with one being of particular interest, he added.
'May be pregnant'
"Think about Jayden's family who are living a nightmare in the run-up to Christmas," Mr Murray said.
"If you've got anything significant to say then please pluck up the courage to say it."
Police said there have been suggestions Jayden may be pregnant.
But Det Ch Supt Murray said officers had no way of confirming this.
Jayden's former boyfriend was remanded in custody at Oxford Crown Court earlier where a plea hearing was set for 17 March.
Mr Blakeley, who has also been charged with perverting the course of justice, is accused of disposing of Jayden's body and lying to police about the last time he saw her.
A 17-year-old boy, from Didcot, who has been charged with perverting the course of justice, also appeared in court earlier and is due back on 17 March.
The teenager is accused of assisting in the disposal of Jayden's body and other evidence.
More than 100 officers and detectives are working to find the teenager.
She was seen on CCTV boarding a train from Oxford railway station to Didcot Parkway at 16:07 GMT on 3 December.
The last reported sighting of her was at Didcot station later the same day.
Officers have been searching in Didcot and around the village of Upton.
