Extra train services will run when the Tour de France comes to Yorkshire in July.
Thousands of people are expected to use trains during the Grand Depart, which starts in Leeds on 5 July.
The first leg of the race, 118 miles (190 km) from Leeds to Harrogate, is followed by 124 miles (200 km) from York to Sheffield on 6 July.
An express service is planned from Leeds to Harrogate and more services will be put on other routes.
An extra 40 carriages will be added to TransPennine routes and East Coast and East Midlands Trains will run more services from London to Yorkshire.
Network Rail said it would suspend all planned engineering works and man signal boxes for longer over the Grand Depart weekend.
Passengers will be discouraged from taking bikes on trains and should expect to queue, the rail operators said.
The race continues from Cambridge to London on 7 July after leaving Sheffield before moving to France.
