Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health NHS Trust views wanted

People are being urged to give their opinion of Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health NHS Trust.

It is one of the first mental health trusts to be inspected under radical changes being introduced by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

The body is to place greater emphasis on inspecting care in the community as well as assessment admissions.

Chief Inspector Professor Sir Mike Richards said it was "vital" people who had experienced care gave their views.

He said it would provide the CQC with a "clear picture" of the quality of services provided by the trust.

The formal inspection by a team of 70 people, including clinical experts and people who have experience of using mental health services, will start on 9 June.

Over the course of a week, the inspection team will be visiting every hospital ward managed by the trust in Bristol, Bath, Devizes, Swindon, Salisbury and Weston super Mare.
