Knutsford Crown Court closure consultation opens
- Published
A consultation on whether to shut a Cheshire crown court has begun.
HM Courts and Tribunals Service proposed closing the Knutsford court, which it said had "not been used for any Crown Court matters since May 2010, due to reduced workload in Cheshire".
All cases since have been heard at Warrington Combined Court and Chester Crown Court.
A spokeswoman said reopening it "would require additional maintenance costs of approximately £300,000".
The consultation will run until 6 August.
