Cash machine raids: Leicester man arrested

A man has been arrested in connection with the theft of cash machines from supermarkets across the country involving diggers.

Several thefts happened between 1 October and 16 December.

A 42-year-old man from Leicester was arrested in connection with raids, in Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire and Humberside.

Police said in each theft, a JCB had been used to remove cash machines from supermarket walls.

On Thursday night, officers said the arrested man had been released on bail.
