Janet Muller had been reported missing the day before her body was found

A man has been charged with the murder of a student whose body was discovered in the boot of a burning car.

University of Brighton student Janet Muller, 21, from Eastbourne, was found by fire crews in a Volkswagen Jetta in Ifield, West Sussex, on Friday.

Christopher Jeffrey-Shaw, 26. from Lakeside, Beckenham in south London, is due to appear at Guildford Magistrates' Court on Thursday.

The cause of Miss Muller's death was smoke inhalation.

The student, who was based at the university's Eastbourne campus, had been reported missing from Mill View Hospital in Hove on Thursday.
