Joseph Moss was serving a 32-month sentence for burglary

A convicted burglar who escaped from a prison in Wolverhampton has been arrested by police.

Joseph Moss, 22, from Bartley Green, Birmingham escaped from HMP Featherstone on 16 April.

Staffordshire Police said Moss, who is from the Bartley Green area of Birmingham, was arrested earlier in the city and was taken into custody.

The Ministry of Justice said it could not comment on Moss's case, but would investigate how he was able to escape.

He was serving a 32-month sentence for burglary, at Featherstone, which is classified as a Category C prison.

Category C inmates are required to be held within a secure environment.
