Wiltshire to Bath RUH petition to save bus route

  • Published

More than 1,700 people have signed a petition to save a bus service between Wiltshire and a hospital in Bath.

Patients and staff at the Royal United Hospital in Bath use the hopper service which Wiltshire Council said costs nearly £160,000 a year to run.

The petition is to be handed to the council, which has cut £130,000 from the route.

A motion calling for "this invaluable service" to continue will be put before the authority later.

Independent councillor Jeff Osborn, who proposed the motion, will ask the Conservative-run council to "do everything possible" to keep the service running.
