Work on improving the interchange between the M62 and M606 is to start by 2020
Work to reduce jams on a busy motorway section near Bradford has been announced as part of a five-year roads investment programme.
Highways England said it wanted to improve traffic flow from the M62 to the M606 at Chain Bar.
It is in addition to work already under way to widen the Chain Bar roundabout, external.
Other schemes to start by 2020 include upgrading the A63 Castle Street in Hull and a new smart motorway on the M62 between junctions 20 and 25.
There will also be work to the M1 junction 45 to give better access to the Aire Valley development and improvements to junctions one to seven on the M621 to reduce queues.
The Highways Agency has announced the schemes as part of a £1.3bn investment in roads across Yorkshire and Humber over the next half-decade.
The projects already under way are:
Upgrading the A1 between Leeming and Barton to a three-lane motorway, providing a complete link from Newcastle to Leeds
Smart motorways created between junctions 32 and 35a and junctions 39 to 42 on the M1
Turning a three mile section of the A610 between the A180 and Immingham into a dual carriageway
Secretary of State for Transport Patrick McLoughlin said the roads investment would "significantly improve journeys and help create jobs".
