Jayden Parkinson: Police employee cleared of misconduct

A Thames Valley Police employee has "no case to answer" for misconduct over the investigation into the disappearance of Jayden Parkinson, watchdogs said.

The unidentified civilian staff member had been under investigation by the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC).

Ben Blakeley, 22, of Reading, strangled and buried Jayden, 17, in Didcot, Oxfordshire, in December 2013.

Three police officers are facing misconduct action over the case.

The IPCC investigation focuses on how they dealt with reports that Jayden was missing between 4 and 12 December 2013. Internal misconduct meetings for two of the officers will take place on Friday.

The force said that a final written warning would be the most severe discipline it could impose.
