Street names quiz
From Doffcocker Lane to Fanny Street, England's towns and villages are peppered with a variety of old street names that, nowadays, raise a titter.
But amid concerns from estate agents that an innuendo-laden address could cause your house price to slump, a backlash is taking place from those who wish to protect England's quirky heritage.
"If you changed the names, you would lose a lot of our social history," said Dr Paul Cavill from the Institute of Name Studies at the University of Nottingham.
"Besides, some modern names can be quite bland."
But do you know your Fanny Hands from your Grope Lanes? Take our quiz and find out.
