Engineers are working to remove the trees blocking the line
A rail line that reopened after being blocked by a 120-tonne landslide, bringing disruption to rail services in the North East and Cumbria, has been closed for a second time.
Flooding caused rubble to fall on to the line near Hexham early on Wednesday, affecting trains between Newcastle and Carlisle.
Northern Rail said a second possible landslide between Corbridge and Hexham had caused a tree to fall on the track.
The Hexham to Prudhoe line is closed.
National Rail said a replacement bus service was in place.

The line was earlier reopened after engineers cleared the landslide from the rail line near Hexham
