A fast ferry put out of action by steering problems is back in service.

Condor's trimaran, Liberation, which serves the Channel Islands and Dorset, had not run since Friday. It left Poole for Guernsey and Jersey at 08:00 GMT.

Another of the company's cross-channel ferries - Commodore Clipper - returned to service on Monday after a ramp failure left dozens of cars trapped.

Some passengers had to wait 12 hours to disembark following the mechanical failure at Portsmouth on Saturday.

People travelling between the UK and the islands endured a weekend of disruption while both vessels underwent repairs.

Condor apologised to customers and thanked them for their understanding and patience.
