England's Big Picture: Igers Birmingham Takeover

Each day we feature an interesting photograph shared with us from across England.

This week is the first England's Big Picture gallery Takeover, where we are working with photography groups across England to celebrate their communities through members' pictures.

The gallery images are being selected by the team at @IgersBirmingham.

Photographer Bhavesh Patel says: "It's a usual scene that I come across, with the Radisson showing in between the buildings either side and the Grand Central sign prominent. But on this day the light was cutting across the road as the sun went down"

Dylan McElroy took this photograph of the "iconic" Selfridges building in Birmingham's Bullring shopping centre

Joel Foster Finn, who took this photograph in the Library of Birmingham, says: "I loved the strong silhouette and the 'halos' of light"

Hardeep Singh Rattan took this photograph of Grand Central in Birmingham. Hardeep says: "This vantage point allows [me] to capture not only the hustle and bustle of shoppers and commuters on the concourse, but also the beautiful architecture and mesmerising leading lines of the roof"

This photograph was taken by Alexa Jones in the Custard Factory, Birmingham. Alexa says: "Digbeth is my favourite part of Brum - buzzy, creative, historic, colourful and individual"

Jay Sidhu captured this shot of traffic outside The Mailbox in Birmingham, using a special exposure technique. "The image is made up of 70 six second exposures merged together to give a slightly different style of light trails," Jay says.

Matt Dolman took this photograph in the Gas Street Basin, Birmingham. He says: "I looked to take a different picture of The Cube. The canal boats in the foreground were my main focus as I thought they were interesting from this angle"

When emailing pictures, please make sure you include the following information:

• The full name of the person who took the pictures (as this person owns the copyright);

• Confirmation that the copyright holder gives permission for the BBC to use their pictures across all its outputs;

• The location, date and time that the pictures were taken;

• Your telephone number so we can get back to you if we have any further questions;

• Any other details about the pictures that may be useful for us to know.

Please note that whilst we welcome all your pictures, we are more likely to use those which have been taken in the past week.
