Beautiful sunrises and rain as summer solstice celebrated

England's most easterly point enjoyed a spectacular sunrise as the summer solstice was celebrated.

BBC England streamed sunrises from a number of locations including easterly location Ness Point in Suffolk and St Ives in west of Cornwall.

Normally the event would be celebrated at Stonehenge but it was closed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The ancient monument had a wet start to the morning along with other locations such as Liverpool and York.

You can watch the whole hour-long programme here on the BBC iPlayer.
