Some train services in the West Midlands were disrupted for most of Sunday by trespassers on the tracks.

West Midlands Railway suspended services between Lichfield Trent Valley, Staffordshire, and Birmingham New Street from the morning.

The line between Duddeston and Aston was blocked and some Wolverhampton and Rugeley services were also diverted.

The firm, which said tickets could be used on other routes, said the line reopened at about 17:00 BST.

The rail operator also offered a limited shuttle service between Lichfield City and Aston on Sunday afternoon when the disruption was extended.

Tickets were also accepted on local bus routes, it added.
