Nantwich flats damaged in suspected drink drive crash

A man has been arrested after a car crashed into a block of flats.

The collision was on Byron Walk in Nantwich at 13:40 GMT on Sunday afternoon, Cheshire Police said.

There were no reports of serious injuries, but the driver was taken to hospital as a precaution, and the flats had to be assessed for structural damage.

A man has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving.

Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service said the car hit the corner of the three-storey building, dislodging a number of bricks.

A lamp-post was also damaged in the collision.

Firefighters carried out checks within the block of flats, and a structural engineer was also asked to attend to assess the damage.
