Police pursuit from M25 to Lancing sees man charged

A man has been charged with a string of driving offences after a police pursuit through Surrey and West Sussex.

Officers were called to a report of a stolen vehicle on the M25 in Surrey on Christmas Eve and pursued a car to Lancing in West Sussex.

Sonny Breakspear, 34, of no fixed address, was charged with driving a vehicle without consent of the owner and dangerous driving.

He was due to appear before Guildford Magistrates' Court.

Mr Breakspear is also accused of damaging a police vehicle, driving without a licence and insurance and failing to stop.

Lancing is more than 40 miles away from the M25 in Surrey.

A police spokesman said Mr Breakspear was also charged with criminal damage and assault occasioning actual bodily harm for an incident on 8 December in Dorking, Surrey, as well as malicious communication for an incident on 15 December.
