Police found 5kg of suspected Class A drugs in Manningtree and another 5kg in Ipswich

A 69-year-old man has been charged after 11kg of suspected Class A drugs were seized by police.

Three warrants were executed at properties in Colchester and Manningtree in Essex and in Ipswich on Monday.

The 69-year-old from Colchester and a 33-year-old man from Manningtree have been charged with conspiracy to supply drugs.

The pair were due to appear before Chelmsford Magistrates' Court.

Acting Ch Insp Taks Shah said: "Drugs are a scourge on our communities and, as a force, we work incredibly hard to target those people who we believe to be behind the supply."
