Hertfordshire country park facilities for sale
- Published
The running of a 79-acre country park in Hertfordshire is being sold by the county council to save money.
The car park, farm and play area at Aldenham Country Park in Elstree are run by the authority, which decided in November last year to close them down.
The council, which approved its budget on Friday, has said it needs to save £200m in the next four years.
Derrick Ashley, member for environment, said public access to the open space must be maintained.
"We welcome imaginative and creative proposals for the future use of the site, although any proposed uses will be restricted to agricultural and recreational," he added.
