Man dies in 50ft kite-flying fall

A man has died after falling 50ft (15m) from the air while flying a kite at a Bedfordshire beauty spot.

A Magpas Helimedix air ambulance was sent to Dunstable Downs at 13:25 BST but the man, thought to be in his 20s, was declared dead at the scene.

A spokeswoman for East of England Ambulance Service said he "suffered multiple traumatic injuries and went into suspected cardiac arrest".

She added that the man was taken to the mortuary by land ambulance.
