Buckinghamshire to have energy efficient streetlights

  • Published

More than 10,000 streetlights in Buckinghamshire are to be replaced with energy efficient bulbs.

Transport for Buckinghamshire said the four-year project will save £283,000 a year.

Maintenance costs will also be reduced as each new light will last six years, instead of three.

The programme will cost £3.7m, with £1.4m coming from an energy efficiency loan. It will also save 1,484 tonnes of carbon a year.
