A 46-year-old man who died after being shot outside a house in Luton on Tuesday has been named by police.

Paul Foster, who was married with children, died at Luton and Dunstable Hospital shortly after midnight.

Police said he was injured during an incident in Brunel Road. A post-mortem examination is due to be carried out.

Detectives are seeking information about a white transit style van seen in the area and thought to be connected to the inquiry.

Det Supt Jeff Hill said: "This shooting happened in a residential street and has understandably left the local community feeling extremely vulnerable, which is why it is vital that people with information about what happened come forward and speak to the police.

"Paul was a married man with children and his loved ones deserve to see those responsible for his death brought to justice.

"Detectives are continuing to keep an open mind as to the reasons why Paul was shot and I would take this opportunity to continue to appeal to members of the community to come forward and speak with officers."
