A man is in a serious condition after being shot in the leg in what police described as a "targeted" attack.

The 27-year-old was fired at when he remonstrated with another driver after a crash at 08:00 BST. It is the 10th shooting in Luton this year.

Police have described the offender as a skinny 6ft white man who got back in the silver saloon and drove off.

The area around the Leicester Arms pub at the junction of Leicester Road and Dunstable Road has been sealed off.

Supt Dave Boyle said: "This would appear to be a targeted incident involving people who know each other.

"If anyone has information please contact the police in confidence as a matter of urgency."

A £1,000 reward is being offered to anyone who can provide information leading to the arrest and conviction of those involved, police said.
