Police have not found Paul Foster's murderer

An estimated 500 mourners have attended the funeral of a Luton murder victim.

Paul Foster, 46, who was known as Big Shyne, was shot outside a friend's house in Brunel Road in April.

Traffic came to a standstill as a horse-drawn hearse travelled to the Calvary Church of God in Christ in Dunstable Road before going to the Vale Cemetery in Stopsley.

Police investigating the shooting said inquiries were "still ongoing".

Mr Foster, of Hebden Close, was shot just before midnight on 9 April and died later at the Luton and Dunstable Hospital.

The killing was the third of 10 shooting incidents in the town this year, and the first gun-related fatality.

Investigation continues

Mr Foster was the uncle of murdered teenager Delaney Brown, 19, who was deliberately knocked off his bike by Kyle Beckford, 22, while driving a stolen BMW, last September.

Beckford was found guilty of murder earlier this month and will serve a minimum of 24 years in prison.

Police are still looking for Mr Foster's killer and a spokeswoman said there was "no motive that we are currently aware of".

Bedfordshire Police had a dedicated operation to manage the funeral cortege to minimise any traffic congestion and disruption.

They asked the general public for "understanding and forbearance at this sad time".
