A fire broke out at the former Buckingham Town football ground following a suspected arson attack.

About 50 firefighters tackled the blaze at the derelict sports pavilion in Ford Street, Buckingham, just after 22:00 GMT on Wednesday, Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service said.

One woman was treated by paramedics for the effects of smoke inhalation.

Four people - including a teenage boy - have been arrested, Thames Valley Police said.

A spokesman said a 24-year-old man, a 16-year-old boy, a 17-year-old girl, all from Buckingham, and a 15-year-old boy from Stowe, were in custody.

The force has appealed for anyone who may have seen someone acting suspiciously around the football club to come forward.
