Father and child dead in Christmas Day A421 crash

A father and his three-year-old child were killed and a woman seriously hurt in a crash on Christmas Day.

The man, who was driving, died at the scene on on the A421, near Marston, Bedfordshire, at 23:10 GMT, police said. No other vehicles were involved.

His child was airlifted to hospital but died soon after, police said. A woman in her 30s was taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital.

The road between Marsh Leys and Marston remains closed in both directions.

All three are from Bedfordshire.

Police said next of kin had been informed.
