A man's body has been found in a bin in Luton.

A member of the public made the discovery in Essex Close at about 21:00 BST on Monday.

Bedfordshire Police said it was possible the body may have been there for "several days" before it was discovered.

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is being questioned by police. The force is urging witnesses to come forward.

Det Fraser Wylie said: "This is a complex investigation and we are in the early stages of establishing the circumstances that have led to this man's death, which we are treating as murder."
