A man has been charged in court with the murder of a woman 34 years ago.

The body of Shani Warren, 26, was discovered gagged and bound in Taplow Lake, Buckinghamshire, in April 1987.

Donald Robertson, 66, formerly of Slough, Berkshire, is charged with her murder and also the kidnap and rape of a 16-year-old girl in Slough in 1981.

He did not appear in person at High Wycombe Magistrates' Court, and no pleas were entered by his solicitor.

Mr Robertson is further charged with indecent assault and unlawful imprisonment involving Ms Warren, 26.

He was further remanded in custody to appear at Reading Crown Court on 29 November.

Ms Warren was last seen driving from her home in Stoke Poges to her parents' house in Gerrards Cross on Good Friday 1987.

Her body was discovered by a dog walker on Easter Saturday.
