Man killed after M1 crash near Milton Keynes

A van driver in his 30s has died after a crash on the M1 southbound between junctions 14 and 13.

The crash between a Luton box van and a crane happened shortly after 06:00 BST on Friday.

Bedfordshire Police are investigating the collision in which the van driver died, and has appealed for witnesses to contact them.

The road was closed but has now reopened, external, said National Highways.

The driver's family have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.

Det Insp Garry Webb said: "Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who has sadly lost his life.

"We would like to hear from anyone who was travelling on the M1 at this time who may have information or dashcam footage which may have captured the vehicles involved in the moments before the collision to get in touch."
